I grew up in southwest Kansas and I love spending time with people and hearing their stories – good and bad. It makes sense that I’ve always gravitated towards healthcare where I get to do all of that at once. The most rewarding thing is pairing knowledge of the human body with compassion for the human soul. Outside of my job you can find me beating my husband Austin in a board game, doing anything to get a giggle out of my adorable boys Elliot and Alder, thrift shopping, sewing, or anything that involves being outside. We are big fans of long walks, Tillamook ice cream, and Mediterranean food.
I attended Sterling College and while there was mentored by Drs. Dashiell and Darnauer, and it was during that time while watching them care for their community that I fell in love with family medicine. After finding my way back to Sterling repeatedly throughout medical school and residency to learn more from them, it became clear that I loved the Rice County community too.
As a physician I am often given a place of privilege in experiencing some of the richest or most vulnerable times in a person’s life, and I don’t take that lightly. I believe each patient’s healthcare is as unique as they are, and I strive to partner with them to achieve their best health. I believe each person deserves dignity, respect, and compassion in the care of their body and mind.
