TOBACCO-FREE POLICY

Rice Community Health is committed to promoting the health and safety of Rice County by implementing a comprehensive Tobacco-Free Policy. Effective January 1, 2014, the use, sale, or presence of tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and smokeless tobacco, is strictly prohibited on all hospital properties, including Sterling Family Care and Lyons Family Care.

This policy applies to everyone on our premises—employees, medical staff, patients, and visitors. Patients will be informed of the Tobacco-Free Policy during pre-admission and admission processes. For those looking to quit tobacco use, we provide various evidence-based resources and programs.

Visitors are also expected to adhere to this policy. Our staff may remind violators of the policy or provide them with informational cards outlining its purpose. Our goal is to foster a healthy, safe environment for all, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping us achieve this.
